An old cottage garden favourite which produces beautifully sweet-scented mauve-purple or white flowers that become more fragrant in the evening.
Dames Rocket is an old-fashioned garden favourite that is rarely seen today.
Ideal in use in borders, cottage gardens and meadow planting. Self-seed readily. Attracts honeybees and other beneficial insects.
A native wildflower to Southern Europe, Russia, and Western and Central Asia.
The flowers are edible and look great in salads but only the young leaves are edible. The older leaves are not edible.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Autumn to Early Spring.
Temperate: Late winter and spring or Autumn.
Cold: Spring to Early Summer or Autumn.
Sow: 2mm deep.
Sow direct or in trays. If sowing in trays transplant when large enough to handle avoiding excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 20-30cm
Row space: 20-30cm
Flowering: 14 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for more vigorous plants.
