Juncus is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants, commonly known as rushes. It is the largest genus in the family Juncaceae, containing around 300 species, with 68 in Australia, and 31 that are endemic to Australia.
A rhizomatous robust perennial herb 0.5-2 metres high with green flowers that occur from October to December.
Forms a dense clump with leaves that are rounded around the stem.
The Pale Rush thrives in wet, high-nutrient soils with full sun positions.
Juncus pallidus will tolerate shade and coastal conditions. Juncus pallidus requires low maintenance.

Grows in moist to wet clay, Swamps and watercourses.
Occurs naturally in the Avon Wheatbelt, Coolgardie, Esperance Plains, Geraldton Sandplains, Jarrah Forest, Mallee, Swan Coastal Plain, and Warren in Western Australia.
The best time of year to sow Juncus seed is late Winter and Spring when the temperature 16-23°C avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year.
