Juniperus virginiana is a fast growing dense plant native to North America. Stout erect branching stem with a densely texture crown. Needle like leaves 1 cm long on juvenile plants with typical conifer scale like overlapping leaves on mature plants. On poorer soils it will often take the form of a shrub rather than a tall tree.
Adaptable to most moist soils in an open sunny position, frost resistant but drought tender.
