This is an old Italian heirloom variety with long narrow, heavily blistered dark grey green leaves is dwarf growing and produces an abundance of curly leaves from the centre of each plant. Keeps its bulk when cooked and stores well. Kale is a very good source of Vitamins A, C, K and folate and provides 50% of the daily requirement in a single 80 gms (3 oz) portion.

Adaptable to most garden soils that is composted and well-drained in a sunny position.

Cold: Summer to Early Autumn.

Sow: 5mm deep.
Grow in trays of a good seed raising mix or sow direct where they are to grow
Germination: 8-10 days.

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
