An old European variety with extremely tender white stems 15cm long by 5cm diameter. The sweet and delicate flavour makes it ideal for use in salads, soups etc.

Suitable for growing in cold and wet and even.

Perfers a rich fertile soil, prefers an open sunny position.

Tropical: Late summer to early winter
Sub-tropical: Late summer to mid autumn
Temperate: Spring to autumn.
Cold: Spring to early autumn.

Sow: 5-6mm deep and gently firm. Keep moist but not too wet.
Raise in trays of a porous seed raising mix. Transplant when about 10cm high. Alternatively sow direct in drills.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Row space: 15-20cm
Matturity: 12-20 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
