An Asian heirloom variety dating back to the 1840’s with long, tongue-shaped leaves. The leaves are tender, with a unique strong flavour. A slow bolting variety that is heat resistant.
Growing notes:
Prefers moist fertile well-drained soil but grows well in almost any garden soil in a sunny position with adequate water. Grow fast with plenty of water and regular feeds of liquid manure to avoid bitterness.
