Maireana brevifolia, commonly known as Bluebush is a shrub with an erect stem, a rounded crown and attractive blue-green grey fleshy foliage.
Flowers occur in summer to autumn followed by green and red berries 9 mm in diameter.
Endemic to the arid areas of Australia.
Prefers a light to medium well-drained soil in an open sunny position, drought and frost resistant. Salt tolerant.

Although seed can be sown most of the year in Australia seed is generally best sown in spring or autumn in temperate climates, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 18-22°C
