A fast-growing small to medium-sized shrub that bears attractive scented creamy-white flowers with a pinkish tinge that occur in clusters along the stems like Callistemon's during spring.
Leaves are elliptical 5 to 10 mm long and around 3mm wide.
Adaptable to a range of soils from light sandy soils to red clay loams in an open sunny position, drought and frost-tolerant. Occurs naturally in Western Australia, New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria.
Propagation is easy from seed.
Melaleuca seed is generally best sown in spring or autumn avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year.
If growing in containers:
Sow on surface of the growing mix.
Germination generally occurs in around 14-28 days at 18-22°C
Sow directly for re-vegetation projects.
