A small to medium rounded shrub variable in size and form from a densely branched, small shrub to a small tree depending on the local conditions.
Flowering occurs during spring early summer producing a stunning display of white bottlebrush flowers.
Melaleuca viminea is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia and has become naturalised locally in southern Victoria.
Prefers a well-drained soil in an open sunny position.
Seed is generally best sown in spring or autumn, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 18-22°C
NOTE: Seeds of many natives are dormant and require specific conditions or pre-treatment for germination.
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, natives will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
