Coral salmon produces masses of salmon-coloured single flowers on compact bushy plants to 30cm. Perfect for mass planting in garden beds, baskets, planters, window boxes, and hanging baskets.

Petunias can tolerate relatively harsh conditions and hot climates but not frost. They need at least five hours of sunlight daily and flourish in moist soil and conditions of low atmospheric humidity. They are best grown from seed. Watering once a week should be sufficient in most regions, but hanging baskets and other containers need more frequent watering.

Maximum growth occurs in late spring. Apply fertiliser every 2 weeks will help the plant grow quickly.

Petunia is a genus of 20 species of flowering plants of South American origin.

Petunia is a warm-season flower that prefers to be grown in full sun.

Tropical and Arid: March to September.
Temperate: August to December.
Cool: September to December.

If sowing in trays or punnets.

  • Fill trays and punnets with a quality seed-raising mix
  • Sow seeds 2mm deep.
  • Keep soil moist but not wet or dry.
  • Seeds should germinate around 7-15 days at a soil temperature of 20-28°C.
  • Transplant seedlings to the garden when they are large enough to handle.

If mass planting.

  • Remove any weeds.
  • Loosen soil and rake level.
  • Scatter seed evenly and lightly rake over.

Keep moist at all times until the plants have established.

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
