An attractive dwarf variety of Phlox producing brightly coloured blue flowers that are held in clusters on stems above the foliage.
Phlox are long blooming annuals with small lance-shaped leaves held close to the stem.

Ideal for garden beds, baskets, planters, borders, wildflower mixes and mass planting.
Prefers dry to moderately moist soil in a protected, sunny position.

Phlox drummondii is a flowering plant that belongs to the Polemoniaceae family and is native to Texas. The flowers of Phlox drummondii come in a variety of colours ranging from white and cream to pinks, lilacs, roses, purples, reds, and almost black.

It is widely distributed in the southeastern United States, and it is commonly used as an ornamental plant along public highways.
The plant is named after Scottish botanist Thomas Drummond, who sent it and other plant samples back to Britain after his expedition to Texas between 1833 and 1835


Growing Phlox from seed.

  1. Best sown 2mm directly where they are to grow.
  2. If sowing in trays transplant when large enough to handle.
  3. If mass planting as a meadow scatter seeds and rake over at a rate of 1.3g per m2

Tropical: Late Autumn to early Spring. 
Temperate: Late winter to Early Summer.
Cold: Spring to Early Summer.

Germination: 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 18-20°C

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
