The Red Annual Phlox boasts vibrant, carmine red flowers clustered atop stems that rise above the foliage. These long-blooming annuals feature small, lance-shaped leaves held close to the stem, making them perfect for garden beds, baskets, planters, and borders, ideal for wildflower mixes and mass planting. Phlox flower attracts beneficial insects.
Prefers dry to moderately moist soil in a protected, sunny position.

Phlox drummondii is a flowering plant that belongs to the Polemoniaceae family and is native to Texas. The flowers of Phlox drummondii come in a variety of colours ranging from white and cream to pinks, lilacs, roses, purples, reds, and almost black.

The plant is named after Scottish botanist Thomas Drummond, who sent it and other plant samples back to Britain after his expedition to Texas between 1833 and 1835.

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
