Frangipani is a small beautiful flowering tree that come in a wide variety of flower colours,  flowers are most fragrant at night in order to lure moths to pollinate them. Packet contains mixed colours.

Adaptable to almost any garden soil in an open sunny position, drought and frost tender.

Frangipani are easily grown from seed and will generally grow faster than from cuttings.

Although seed can be sown most of the year in many parts of Australia seed is generally best sown as the weather warms in spring to summer, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 22-28°C for this species.

Sow the seed as the weather warms in spring to summer.

  1. Soak the seed in water overnight prior to sowing.
  2. Sow the fat end of the winged seed 5-6mm below the surface with the “wing” of the seed standing upright from the soil.
  3. It important to keep warm and moist but do not over water as the seed will rot.
  4. Germination time is generally relevant to the heat of the soil, germination should occur in 14-28 days 22-28°C

General note: Seeds of many species of plants are dormant and require specific conditions or pre-treatment for germination.
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
