A nice selection with a nice wide mix made up of ten different colours in shades of yellow, orange, pink, rose, white, cream and a few striking bicolour. Many large sized flowers are produced on each plant with strong, sturdy stems that are good for cut flowers. Poppies are always more dramatic when planted in mass, a must for every spring garden. Self-sows freely.
Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils in an open sunny position. Tolerant to poor sandy soils and is drought and frost resistant.
Tropical: Autumn to early winter.
Temperate: Late summer and autumn.
Cold: Late summer and early autumn.
Sow: 2-3mm deep, cover lightly and gently firm.
For best results sow directly into soil where they are to grow. If grown early indoors use a growing container that can be planted directly into the soil such as jiffy pots as seedlings do not like root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 20-30cm
Flowering: 20 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
