A deciduous tree native to North America the quaking Aspen is an extremely attractive tree with a smooth white truck with glossy green leaves during the warmer months before turning a stunning bright golden yellow in Autumn.
The leaves tremble and flutter in the breeze hence the name “quaking” aspen
The bark of the aspen is considered to have anti-inflammatory properties.
The Quaking Aspen is a widely distributed tree throughout North America, occurring from Canada in the north to central Mexico in the south.
Grow notes:
Although seed can be sown most of the year in many parts of Australia seed is generally best sown in spring, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 16-20°C
General note: Seeds of many plants are dormant and require specific conditions or pre-treatment for germination.
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
