An Heirloom variety of Butternut pumpkin from the 1940's with soft yellow-orange flesh with a sweet creamy nutty taste.
Originates from Waltham Massachusetts in the USA.

Pear-shaped fruits with pale skin and flesh growing up to 2kg with a small seed cavity. Delicious as a roast or steamed vegetable or as an alternative to pumpkin in pies, roasts, a perfect variety for pumpkin soup.
Stores well.

Grow notes:

Adaptable to most good garden soils but prefers rich soil with a generous amount of water in full sun.

Sow: 2cm deep
Sow 3-4 seeds in raised mounds 1 metre apart in a directly into the growing position. Thin to the two strongest plants in each mound.
