If you're on the lookout for a small and compact pumpkin variety, this one might be the perfect fit for you. These pumpkins have round orange fruits that measure around 15 cm in diameter and weigh between 500 and 900 g. They're known for their delicious nutty flavour, which is why they're a top pick among pumpkin enthusiasts.
To grow these pumpkins, you can use most good garden soils, but they thrive in rich soil with plenty of water and full sun exposure. Ensuring that they have enough water and sunlight will help them reach their full potential. They're also an excellent choice for small gardens and containers, as they don't require much space.
To plant the seeds, make raised mounds in the growing area and sow 3-4 seeds per mound, ensuring that the seeds are 2cm deep.
Keep a distance of 1 metre between each mound. Once the seeds germinate in 6-10 days, thin out the weaker plants and retain the two strongest ones in each mound.
The best time to plant is in spring to early summer for temperate climates and mid-spring to early summer for cool climates. However, if you're in a tropical region, you can sow the seeds all year round.
