Rouge Vif D'Etampes (Cinderella) Pumpkin is an heirloom variety from France.
A high yeiding beautiful flattened and ribbed large fruit is a gorgeous deep red orange with tasty flesh that is great in pies or baked.
A very old French heirloom, this was the most common pumpkin in the Central Market in Paris in the 1880's It can also be picked small, like summer squash, and fried.
Pumpkins are a warm-season plant.
The best time to sow pumpkins in Australia
- In temperate and cool climates, sow or plant pumpkins in spring to early summer, after the danger of frost has passed.
- For most regions of Australia, plant pumpkins from mid-September through December.
- In arid regions like central Australia, plant pumpkins in late spring to early summer, usually between October and December.
- In mild zones of Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania, it is best to sow the pumpkins in spring, from September to November.
Harvest pumpkins in all climates during Autumn when the stalks dry.
