This ever-popular Salvia cultivar produces lance-shaped foliage with long-lasting rich scarlet flower spikes that bloom throughout summer with an invigorating fragrance.
Salvias are very hardy and require little attention once established, can be pruned just above ground level at the end of the flowering season for another display the following summer.
Ideal for cottage gardens, bedding, pots or containers as well as being outstanding for mass planting.
Salvia splendens is native to Brazil and is an excellent nectar producer attracting pollinating insects and nectar-feeding birds.
Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers a well-drained average soil in a sunny position.
