Rock Soapwort is a vigorous low creeping plant useful for spilling down sunny slopes or over rock walls. Plants form a low mound of bright-green leaves literally smothered by starry bright pink flowers.
Useful as an edging in the sunny border, hanging baskets or pots Clumps may be easily divided in late summer or early spring.
Adaptable to most soils but prefers an open sunny position.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Autumn to Spring.
Temperate: Late Summer and Autumn.
Cool climate: Mid-Summer and Autumn or Late Winter to Early Summer.
Sow: On surface and firm gently, do not bury deeply. Keep moist
Sow direct in the growing position or in trays. If sowing in trays transplant when large enough to handle avoiding excessive root disturbance.
Plant in a well-drained soil in a sunny position.
Plant space: 40cm
Germination: 10-20 days
