The Sweet William Catchfly is a slender annual European wildflower that produces bright pink flowers with 5 notched petals.
Catchfly work well in wildflower mixtures, cut flowers and the pollinator garden when they attract butterflies and other beneficial insects.
Looks spectacular when grouped in cottage gardens, at the front of borders or in drifts in a meadow garden. Takes either full sun or partial shade.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Autumn to Early Spring.
Temperate: Spring.
Cold: Mid-spring and summer.
Sow: 1mm deep.
Sow direct or in trays. If sowing in trays transplant when large enough to handle avoiding excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 20-30cm
Row space: 20-30cm
Flowering: 14 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for more vigorous plants.
