Produce large watermelon like fruit up to 6kg and 20 cm in diameter with bright white mild tasting flesh. 

A very versatile species of squash, grown for its edible seeds, fruit, and greens. The flowers, shoots and leaves can be eaten as greens. Young fruit can be cooked and eaten complete with skin and seed and mature fruit are good in jams.
A popular variety often grown for the edible seed, each Chilacayote squash can hold up to five hundred individual black seeds.
