A must in Mexican cuisine this rare Mexican heirloom produces round fruits that can be picked when green around 10-15cm (45 days) in diameter and eaten like zucchini or left on the vine until the turn yellow and are fully mature and stored and used like pumpkin after 65 days.

Highly productive vines produce flavourful firm fruit and have a good resistant to disease.
Tatume is a rare variety that is getting harder and harder to find.

Adaptable to most good garden soils but prefers a rich soil with adequate amounts of water in full sun.

Cool climate: Mid-Spring to Mid-Summer.

Sow: 2cm deep
Best sown direct in a sunny well drained position 3 seeds in a mound 70cm apart. Thin to the stongest two plants in each mound.

Germination: 7-10 days
Maturity: 6-7 weeks
