An invaluable bedding plant with dense showy spikes of sweetly scented pink flowers.
Justifiably popular for beds, borders, cut flowers, or mass planting. A hardy plant that requires very little and will grow for several seasons, seeds freely.
Grow notes:
Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils in a sunny position. Prefers rich loose soil but will tolerate dry poor soils.
Tropical: Autumn.
Temperate: Mid-summer to Autumn.
Cold: Mid-summer to Autumn.
Sow: 3mm deep.
Sow direct or in trays transplant when 5 cm high, to avoid excessive root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 30cm
Flowering: 20 weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
