The most widely grown variety of Swede that has been cultivated in Europe since the Middle Ages. This heirloom variety produces the best cream coloured roots with purple tops of the swede family.
The large roots are renowned for their rich flavour when cooked making them ideal for soups, stews or roast vegetable.
