Sweet Pea ‘Royal Family Mix’ produces large flowers in a mix of red, white, salmon, pink, lavender and purple.
These beautifully coloured sweetly fragranced sweet peas are produced in large clusters bursting with colour at the ends of sturdy vines that are excellent for cut flowers.
Plants do best in full sun with moderate moisture.
It is adaptable to most well-drained garden soils but does best in rich, friable soil that drains well. Avoid waterlogged soils.
Traditionally, the 17th of March, St Patrick's Day, is used to guide sowing sweet peas in many parts of Australia.
Sweet Pea’s are best sown directly I the growing position.
Soak the seed 24 hrs in water.
Sow seed 25mm deep.
- Cool climates: September to October or January to April.
- Temperate: January to April.
- Sub-tropical: March to May.
- Tropical: February to May.
- Arid climates: February to May.
Germination typically takes 14-21 days at 13-18°C
