The golden ball have a medium sized top, keep well and with a taste similar to rutabagas, are good for cooking. An heirloom variety described in 1879 as "Skin very smooth and quite yellow flesh yellow, soft to firm, and fine flavoured"
Widely sort after in Scotland and the north of England. Harvest when roots are 7-10 cm (3-4”) in diameter for best eating quality.

Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position.

Tropicall: Spring to Autumn.
Temperate: Spring to Autumn.
Cold: Spring to Autumn.

Sow: 3mm deep.
For best results sow direct where they are to grow
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 20-30cm
Row space: 20-30cm
Maturity: 8-12 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
