Arkwright Ruby features beautiful red flowers with yellow eyes and deep purple centres at the ends of the stems from early spring to late autumn, which are most effective when planted in groups.
An old-fashioned favourite that can be used as a groundcover, in borders and rockery, in baskets, containers, and tubs.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Late Summer and Autumn.
Temperate: Mid-Summer and Autumn.
Cool climate: Mid-Summer and Autumn or Early Spring.
Sow: 6 mm deep
Best sown in trays and transplant when large enough to handle avoiding excessive root disturbance, approx. 6 weeks.
Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny position.
Plant space: 20 cm
Germination: 21-28 days
Flowering: 15 Weeks
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for more vigorous plants.
Prefers rich moist well-drained soil in a protected sunny to partial shade position.
