Johnny Jump-Up ‘Helen Mount’ is a cheerful, tri-colored Viola that is a real stand-out in the cool months of the growing season.
The dainty fragrant blooms appear very early in the season. Plants reseed readily and are very much at home in the rock garden or wild garden.
They will re-bloom in autumn if cut back in summer.
An old-fashioned cottage garden favourite that can be used as a groundcover, in borders and rockery, in baskets, containers, and tubs.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Late Summer and Autumn.
Temperate: Mid-Summer and Autumn.
Cool climate: Mid-Summer and Autumn or Early Spring.
Sow: 6 mm deep
Best sown in trays and transplant when large enough to handle avoiding excessive root disturbance, approx. 6 weeks.
Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny position.
