A rare heirloom variety of Watermelon producing excellent round fruits with sweet juicy golden yellow flesh.

A very productive variety of large melon with green striped skin that can grow to 25-30 cm in diameter and weigh up to 10-15 kg.
Good melon for slicing and fruit salads.

Grow notes:

Tropical climate: Year-Round
Temperate climate: Spring to Early Summer.
Cool climate: Mid-Spring to Early Summer.

Sow: 20mm deep
Plant space: 1m
Row Space: 1.5m
Germination: 6-10 days
Maturity: 15-20 weeks

Best sown directly early in the season. For earlier planting in cooler climates raise in pots in warm conditions and transplant after 3-4 weeks. Requires temperatures of around 18-20°C for germination
Sow in rows 40-60cm between plants and in rows 120cm apart
If sowing direct, plant 3-4 seeds 15mm deep in mounds, later thinning to the two strongest plants.
Plant in free-draining soil in a position with full sun.
For best results fertilise and keep well watered, keep the soil moist and avoid overhead watering where possible.
Harvest after 75-90 days when the stem turns brown and begins to break away from the fruit.
