Valued for its abundant harvest and outstanding Tromboncino is an heirloom variety that was developed in Liguria Northern Italy and is now common throughout Italy.
Harvest young fruits as zucchini while tender and the skin are soft.

Mature fruits grow up to 1m long becoming curled like a trombone and should be treated like marrow or pumpkin.

Zucchini is best sown when the soil has warmed up and there is no longer a risk of frost. Late spring to early summer is the best time for zucchini planting in most regions of Australia, as by then, the soil has warmed up enough. Zucchini adapts well to most good garden soils that are well-draining and exposed to sunlight. Adequate food and water should be supplied to ensure proper growth.

Sow three seeds in mounds 70cm apart, 1cm deep and keep moist

Best sown in a sunny, well-drained position, three seeds in a mound 70cm apart. Thin to the most vigorous two plants in each mound.
Plant space: 70cm
Row Space: 70cm
Germination: 6-10 days
Maturity: 6-8 weeks

Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
