A French heirloom variety that is highly esteemed in Europe for its delicious stems and rose-coloured buds that can be blanched white.
Produces large 2 cm thick spears earlier in spring than most varieties. It is the ultimate variety used for white asparagus.
Excellent flavour, very tender, and loaded with folic acid and other healthy vitamins and minerals.
Prefers a well-composted moist well-drained soils in an open sunny position. Frost resistant but drought tender.
Grow notes:
Tropical: Autumn and Winter.
Temperate: Winter and Spring.
Cold: Spring.
Sow: 30mm deep.
For best results sow directly into the soil where they are to grow.
