Madagascar beans are a type of Lima bean that is left to mature on the vine and harvested as a dried legume.
A heirloom climbing lima bean suited to tropical climates, but will grow well in any climate. The beans can be eaten fresh or harvested as dried when pods are ready to split. Perennial plants in tropical climates are very vigorous and hardy.

Soaking seed overnight prior to sowing helps with the up-take of moisture for germination. Best sown directly in a growing position in moist soil.

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position
