Improved Detroit variety with a good disease resistance.
An open pollinated variety of this extremely nutritious root vegetable with a sweet taste and a tender texture. The top growth can be eaten as chard or spinach. The foliage is also highly regarded for taste and high in iron.

Grow notes:

Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position. Avoid deformed beets by planting them in loose soil free from stones or rocks.
