An heirloom variety of beetroot originating in the USA in the early 19th century that produce sweet and tender root that does not become fibrous.
Unlike to red varieties of beetroot “Golden” is a little milder in taste and does not stain.

Leaves are also sweet and can be cooked like spinach. A good source of fibre, potassium and calcium. 

Grow Notes:

TropicalAutumn, Winter Spring 
Temperate: Winter to Mid-Autumn
Cool climate: Spring to Early Autumn

Sow: 12mm deep
For best results grow in trays of a quality seed raising mix transplant when 6cm high. Alternatively sow direct and thin to strongest plant.
Plant space: 10-12cm
Row Space: 20-25cm
Germination: 10-14 days
Maturity: 8-10 weeks

Adaptable to most good garden soils, prefers an open sunny position. Avoid deformed beets by planting them in loose soil free from stones or rocks.
