Native to the Eastern Mediterranean; an elegant narrow growing cypress that is tolerant to most climates. It is a fast growing, elegant, medium-sized evergreen tree with a conic crown with level branches and variably pendulous branches. The foliage grows in dense sprays, dark green in colour. The leaves are scale-like, 2-5 mm long, and produced on rounded (not flattened) shoots. Ideal in pots to frame an entryway or to add elegance to your back patio or pool.
Adaptable to most soils but prefers light poor soils in an open sunny position, it is drought and frost resistant.
Cold stratify in the refrigerator 30 days or can be over wintered in the garden in colder climates.
