An Asian variety from Thailand also known as Hmong Red that produces bright red, round, ribbed fruits 75mm diameter (3”) on 60-90cm (2-3’) plants. Fruits are bitter and used extensively in Asian cuisine. Best when harvesting young (green). Used as “miniature pumpkins" in floral arrangements.

Adaptable to most good garden soils that is well composted and free draining. Requires full sun and a long growing season. Perennial in the tropics but generally grown as an annual in temperate zones.
