An heirloom variety of loose-leaf lettuce dating back to 1898.
An exceptionally fast-growing lettuce that produces medium to large plants with frilled leaves that are crisp with a mild flavour.
Heat tolerant and slow to bolt make this an outstanding variety for the home garden, containers and hydroponics.
Resistant to tip burn.
Prefers moist fertile well-drained soil but grows well in almost any garden soil in a sunny position with adequate water. Grow fast with plenty of water and regular feeds of liquid manure to avoid bitterness.
