A low-growing daisy with fleshy green leaves producing a profusion of tightly packed flowers in vivid colours including rose, crimson, buff, pink, primrose and golden apricot flowers making it ideal for carpeting, borders, rockeries, growing between paving or containers.
Water sparingly throughout growing season.
Livingstone daisy form part of the Aizoaceae family which are commonly known as stone plants, a species that resemble stones or pebbles.
Grow notes:
Adaptable to most garden soils that are well drained and not to fertile, will tolerate drought once established, water sparing throughout the growing season.
Tropical: Autumn to early winter.
Temperate: Winter and spring.
Cold: Late summer to early autumn or mid spring.
Sow: Sow on surface and firm into soil, cover just enough to hold the seed in place. Keep moist whilst germination occurs.
For best results sow directly into soil where they are to grow.
Germination: 10-14 days at 15-20°C
Plant space: 20-30cm
Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
