A small shrub typically growing to around 60 cm high 100 cm wide with small woolly, round, grey leaves to 4 cm long.
Attractive rounded feathery flower heads of grey and pink occur in winter and spring on stems that are suitable as cut flowers. A hardy plant in most situations including containers.
Endemic to the drier regions of Western Australia.
Adaptable to most soil types but prefers an open sunny position, drought and frost resistant.
Although seed can be sown most of the year in many parts of Australia seed is generally best sown in spring or autumn in temperate climates, avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 18-22°C for this species.
General note: Seeds of many natives are dormant and require specific conditions or pre-treatment for germination.
Do not be too hasty to discard seed that does not germinate, seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination to occur. Containers put to one side will often surprise long after they were discarded.
We now stock a range of Propagation Accessories including the popular Aquamiser Propagation Kits, Pots, Native and Forestry Tubes, Trays, Labels and more.
