This is an old Heirloom pumpkin from France. It is deeply ribbed and has a very smooth hard surface. It is dark green in colour when immature, and as it matures it turns a gorgeous deep mahogany. It is fine grained and well suited for pies. A unique eating and ornamental pumpkin.

The best time to sow pumpkins in Australia
- In temperate and cool climates, sow or plant pumpkins in spring to early summer, after the danger of frost has passed.
- For most regions of Australia, plant pumpkins from mid-September through December.
- In arid regions like central Australia, plant pumpkins in late spring to early summer, usually between October and December.
- In mild zones of Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania, it is best to sow the pumpkins in spring, from September to November.
Harvest pumpkins in all climates during Autumn when the stalks dry.
