An old fashioned grape tomato from Germany that was known to be offered in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in the mid-19th century. This wonderful old variety produces huge clusters of scarlet red grape tomatoes. The plants are very large and produce huge yields of these richly flavoured tomatoes. The variety is extremely popular among tomato collectors as it possesses the full tomato flavour that is missing in so many modern cherry tomatoes.

Adaptable to most soils but produces the best fruit in a deep free-draining soil with consistent moisture in a sunny position. Protect from strong winds, support with stakes when required.

Sow: 6mm deep
For best results grow in seed raising trays of a quality seed raising mix. Keep warm and moist. Transplant when 5-7cm high.
