An attractive species of Acacia with a rounded dense spreading habit 1-3 metres in height.
Fine leaf foliage, hence the common name "Fine-Leaf Wodjil" and masses of yellow ball-shaped flowers that occur during the months of July to October.

Occurs naturally in the regions of the Avon Wheatbelt, Coolgardie, Esperance Plains, Geraldton Sandplains, Mallee, and Yalgoo in Western Australia.

It will tolerate many different soils as long as it is well-drained and non-saline.
Full sun to part shade although flowering will be more profuse in full sun.

Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.

The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.

  1. Sow in a well drained mix.
  2. Soak in water 24 hours
  3. Next, soak seeds in near boiling water  for 24-48 hours,to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
  4. Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.
  5. Place in a semi-shaded postion.
  6. Keep the soil moist, avoid overwatering and ensure it doesn’t dry out.

Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.

Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lie dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist, but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
