An attractive inverted cone shape shrub that typically grows to 0.5 to 2 m high with slightly hairy branchlets and with persistent narrowly triangular thickened leaf base.
Appealing yellow globular flowers appear at the end of flower stalks from August to November.

As with most species of Acacia, it has phyllodes rather than true leaves.
The obliquely oval or elliptic shape phyllodes are 6 to 15 mm long and 4 to 9 mm wide with two or three raised main nerves

Occurs naturally in the Great Southern region of Western Australia between Albany in the west, Gnowangerup in the north and Ravensthorpe in the east

For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.

  1.  soak in water for 24-48 hours.
  2. Next, soak seeds in near boiling water overnight to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
  3. Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.

Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.

Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
