This is a hardy, shapely, and fast-growing wattle that produces an abundance of showy pale yellow cylindrical flowers. It is suitable for in-filling, screening, shade, and revegetation. Typically grows 4-8 metres but grows up to 15 metres depending on the conditions.

This plant has papery bark and blooms from April to June with pale yellow cylindrical flowers.

It thrives in sandy soils, is drought-tolerant and can grow in various habitats such as watercourse edges, coastal dunes (including shell banks), and sandstone plateaus.
Occurs naturally in the north of Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and the Gulf Country of northeastern Queensland.

For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.

  1.  soak in water for 24-48 hours.
  2. Next, soak seeds in near boiling water overnight to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
  3. Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.

Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.

Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
