A dense bushy shrub or small tree typically growing between 1 to 4 metres in height.
Thin fleshy green phyllodes (leaves) 7 to 20 cm and 1 to 1.5 mm in diameter. Golden yellow spherical flowers 6mm in diameter occur profusely in clusters on short racemes in groups of 3-6 from August to October in its natural range.
Prefers a well-drained soil in an open sunny position. Frost resistant and drought tolerant.
Occurs naturally in the regions of the Avon Wheatbelt, Geraldton Sandplains, Swan Coastal Plain and Yalgoo in the Eremaean and South-West Provinces of Western Australia.
The best time to sow Acacia seed is:
Cool climates: September to May.
Temperate climates: September to May.
Sub-Tropical climates: August to May
Tropical climates: September to November or March to May.
Arid climates: August to May.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
