Erect slender supple stem with angular branches and an open textured crown. Cream to golden yellow flowers occur in large clusters from winter to spring.

Acacia terminalis is one of those species of wattle which retain the fern-like foliage throughout their lives.

An attractive garden plant that grows quickly.

Widespread in open forest and woodland from northern New South Wales to Tasmania.

Reliable in a range of soils but prefers light to medium in a sunny open position. Drought and frost-tolerant but protect from frost whilst young.

Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.

The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.

  1. Sow in a well drained mix.
  2. Soak in water 24 hours
  3. Next, soak seeds in near boiling water  for 24-48 hours,to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
  4. Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.
  5. Place in a semi-shaded postion.
  6. Keep the soil moist, avoid overwatering and ensure it doesn’t dry out.

Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.

Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lie dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist, but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
