An early bloomer this colourful, deep burgundy Amaranth has 30 cm (12”) flower spikes making it a eye catcher in the garden.

Grow in clumps in your flower beds or use them to add a bold colour contrast to your container plants. These are excellent for use fresh or dried.

Native to Mexico

Tropical: Winter to Mid-Spring.
Temperate: Late Winter to Early-Summer.
Cold: Spring

Sow: 5mm deep.
For best results sow directly into soil where they are to grow.
Germination: 7-14 days.
Plant space: 80cm
Row space: 1 metre
Maturity: 10-12 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.

Adaptable to most soils in a sunny position. Drought resistant but frost tender.
