A small compact variety of basil with an excellent strong aroma makes it useful in fresh salads or making pesto. Dried leaves are also an excellent addition to almost any dish. Basil is rich in vitamin K and beta carotene and natural anti-inflammatory ingredients.
Its dense form with numerous little green leaves makes it ideal for pots and balcony planters.

A must to have in the kitchen where it compliments many different cuisines Wonderfully.
Culinary uses include but are not limited to Pesto, tomatoes, soups, vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry, eggs, rice, tea and cheese.

Easy to look after and great to grow in pots or containers.

The flavour of basil is reduced when flowers appear; pinch out the buds to encourage new leaf growth.

The best time to sow the seed is in Spring after the last frost.

  • Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours before planting. This will help soften the seed coat and speed up the germination process.
  • Plant the seeds in well-draining soil as they prefer moist soil but don’t like to be waterlogged.
  • Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil and keep them moist but not wet.
  • Position the pots in a warm and bright location, but not in direct sunlight.
  • Once the seedlings emerge, you can transplant them into individual pots or your garden

Germination: 10 to 21 days.

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
