Seeds can be planted directly into the garden, trays, or containers and then transplanted when they are large enough to handle.
If massing planting, scatter seeds and rake over just enough to cover the seed.

For garden planting, sow the seeds 5mm deep and 20-30 cm apart. It is essential to keep the soil moist throughout the growth period. The seeds will typically germinate within 7-14 days. The optimum germination soil temperature is 15-20°C.

Tropical: Late Summer to Autumn or in Spring.
Temperate: Mid-summer to Late Autumn.
Cold: Spring or Autumn

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
